TEN SET TO LIFT 40 MILLION NIGERIANS OUT OF POVERTY AND SEND 16 MILLION CHILDREN BACK TO SCHOOL

According to the World poverty clock, Nigeria has overtaken India as the country with the most people living in extreme poverty, making Nigeria the poverty capital of the world. Also, according to the UN, Nigeria has over 86.9 million people living in extreme poverty and over a 100 million people living below a dollar (1$) a day.

Despite the effort of goverment, NGOs and other Charity groups, the rate of poverty is still on the rise. This is partly because many previous poverty elevation programmes have failed either because of a poorly designed structure, poor funding or misappropriation of funds.

The need to provide a viable and working programme that will effectively reduce poverty is now or never, as many Nigerians slip deeper into poverty. It is this need that has given rise to The Empowerment Network( TEN).

TEN structure and vision is aimed at empowering eight (8)million Nigerians, which will see forty (40) million Nigerians out of poverty and return sixteen (16) million children back to school within the next ten (10) years.

Unlike other poverty alleviation programmes which focus on mere donations to the less privileged, which has proved abortive,TEN is structured to work through volunteers to provide properly guided skill sharpening training, before providing the first phase of financial Empowerment to it’s beneficiaries. This is followed by close monitoring of it’s benefits to make compulsory contributions and savings before qualifying for the next round of Empowerment. This programme is intending to benefit a minimum of eight (8) million breadwinners who have a minimum of five (5) dependents, with at least two (2) of these out of school; through local Empowerment Centres ( ECs) in all seven hundred and seventy-four (774) local governments in Nigeria, with a minimum of one (1) Empowerment Centre ( Ec) in each local government.

TEN is now working to provide these services to the entire unemployed Labour force in Nigeria.
This organisation is an off shoot of lifted, an arm of The Isaiah Wealth Initiative (TIWI) which draws skillful volunteers across many cities, to provide cutting edge humanitarian services, with over seventeen (17) functional arms.
TIWI’s operations is already touching lives in many countries.

TEN will be hosting a launch/ press briefing on the 5th of June 2021, to promote the TEN agenda among others. The event is also intended to sensitize the public about the activities of TEN and unveil some beneficiaries of the programme, while creating a greater platform for many more to either benefit from this initiative or volunteer their service to help reach many more in need.
